Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during separate meetings with Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers Ceyhun Bayramov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on October 20 and 21 discussed urgent issues related to the implementation of ceasefire agreements in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
"Following the recent telephone contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held separate meetings with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Moscow on October 20 and 21," the diplomatic mission informed. - "During the talks, the parties discussed urgent issues related to the implementation of previously reached agreements on a ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and creation of conditions for its sustainable settlement".
The situation around Nagorno-Karabakh escalated on September 27. Clashes between the Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces in the region continued despite two ceasefire agreements.
