Lavrov discussed the Middle East with the Chinese Foreign Minister

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Wang Yi, member of the Council of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.


The meeting, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, took place on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Nagoya, Japan.


The ministers spoke highly of the general state of the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership and discussed a number of  topics of bilateral cooperation.


They exchanged opinions on the issues on the international agenda, with a focus on the activity and prospects of the G20 and the Russia-China cooperation in this format. The most urgent regional problems were also discussed, including the situation around Iran, the Afghan settlement and the developments in the Korean Peninsula.
