Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah discussed the current bilateral agenda and the schedule of political contacts between the countries by telephone on Tuesday, the Russian MFA said in a statement.
"They discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including the schedule of political contacts, the activities of the Intergovernmental Commissions on trade, economic and defense cooperation and the preparation of events on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year," the diplomatic office said.
Smolensk Square added that during the conversation there was an interested exchange of views on the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and the further promotion of the Russia-ASEAN strategic partnership, as well as on Russia-Malaysia interaction in the UN.
