During his working visit to Baghdad, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the leader of Syria's Tomorrow Movement Ahmad Jarba.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the prospects of development of the situation in Syria and around it, with an emphasis on the need for sustainable progress in the political settlement in accordance with the decisions of the Congress of the Syrian national dialogue in Sochi and the 2254 UN Security Council resolution.
At the same time, Lavrov once again confirmed Russia's support for efforts to preserve the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria and for the final elimination of the presence of international terrorism in this country.
