Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry ways Moscow and Cairo can cooperate in Libya.
"We exchanged views on the situation in Libya and how external players, including Egypt and Russia, can help implement the agreements reached a year ago in Geneva, and including preparations for the national elections scheduled for December 24," Lavrov said following talks with his Egyptian counterpart.
According to him, the successful holding of the elections requires consolidation in the legislative framework, further work on the unification of state bodies, as well as the reconstitution of unified armed forces.
