Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, discussed over the phone on Thursday overcoming humanitarian crises in the Middle East.
"The conversation continued a series of regular contacts between the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the ICRC. Issues of interaction in overcoming humanitarian crises in the Middle East, including Syria, as well as in Afghanistan and Myanmar were considered," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In addition, the sides discussed practical efforts to contain the coronavirus infection pandemic and measures to mitigate its consequences.
