Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to discuss the build-up of multidimensional bilateral ties, the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
"In the course of a confidential conversation, Lavrov and Shoukry discussed a number of issues of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations. At the same time, the mood of Moscow and Cairo to build up multifaceted bilateral ties in accordance with the Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation signed in 2018 was confirmed," the ministry pointed out.
Shoukry arrived in Moscow as part of the delegation of the Arab League contact group on Ukraine.
