The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov held telephone talks with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the parties have discussed a settlement for the Middle East and North Africa. Special attention was paid to the situation in Syria.
They have also discussed the current issues on the agenda of the World Organisation.
«In particular, the issues of resolving conflict and crisis situations for the Middle East and North Africa, including Syria, were touched upon. The Russian side has reaffirmed its focusing on the continuation of the productive cooperation with the UN on a wide range of issues», it is noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s report following the talks.
