Lavrov has urged NATO to abandon the escalation in Europe

The continuing expansion of the North Atlantic alliance, building up its anti-missile potential and military infrastructure on the eastern flank led to a serious crisis of confidence in the Euro-Atlantic. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has claimed about it, speaking at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security.

 

 

“We strongly urge partners to abandon the exaggeration of confrontation and to observe the commitments made at OSCE and NATO-Russia Summits not to strengthen their security at the expense of others,” the Head of Russian diplomacy noted, in particular.

 

 


It is known that the central topics of discussion at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, will be problems of global and regional stability, the restoration of Syria and Iraq, as well as various aspects of security in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

 

 


More than 1,000 guests arrived in Moscow to attend the Forum, including Ministers of Defense, Chiefs of General Staffs, Delegations of Military Departments and Representatives of the Expert Community from 111 countries of the world, as well as Leaders of International Organizations - the CIS, CSTO, SCO, UN, OSCE, ICRC and etc.
