Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed the schedule of upcoming contacts and the interaction between the two countries on international platforms during their talks.
"They discussed current issues in bilateral relations, covering the schedule of upcoming contacts and cooperation on international platforms," stated the Russian foreign ministry in a released statement summarizing the talks.
The ministry also emphasized that both sides confirmed their mutual willingness to further strengthen the Russia-Turkmenistan strategic partnership and develop multifaceted cooperation between Moscow and Ashgabat.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states in Moscow. Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced in a briefing that the meeting of foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states would be held on December 5 in Moscow under the chairmanship of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
