Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh on the sidelines of the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, according to a statement from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Telegram.
Earlier, Lavrov met with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, and Li Hui, China’s Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs.
Held from October 31 to November 1 in the Belarusian capital, the conference aims to foster discussions on the future of Eurasian security amid ongoing military and political tensions between major global players. The high-level event has gathered officials from member states of the CSTO, CIS, and SCO, along with participants from OSCE and Eurasian countries, representatives of international organizations, and members of the academic and expert communities from around 45 countries, with an expected attendance of approximately 600 participants.
