Russia expects that the tension in the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are temporary and will be resolved soon. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a press conference on Wednesday following talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
"We hope that the current tensions in the relations between Baku and Tehran are temporary in nature and will be overcome as soon as possible," the Russian diplomat said.
According to him, overcoming these difficulties will help promote trilateral cooperation involving Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, including in the context of "the implementation of important projects within the development of the North-South international transport corridor." "We are ready to help our friends in resolving existing problems," Lavrov concluded.
