Tatarstan is one of the most active subjects of the Federation in terms of participation in international and foreign economic relations of Russian regions.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told an interview, published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"First of all, the Republic actively promotes its presence abroad. If I am not mistaken, there are representative offices of the Republic of Tatarstan in 15 countries that work closely and under the guidance of the embassies of the Russian Federation. The Republic has extensive relations, primarily with partners from the CIS countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan – almost all other republics of the former Soviet Union that are part of the CIS; it has very close contacts with companies from the United States, Europe, and other regions", the Minister said.

Lavrov also recalled that in recent years, Tatarstan three times won the first prize in terms of creating the most favorable investment opportunities for foreign investors.

"This is one of the most active republics, one of the most advanced subjects of the Federation, with a taste and skill in terms of working in foreign markets and creating conditions for investment to come to the Republic," Sergey Lavrov stressed.
