Lavrov pointed out the importance of Russian diplomats discussing cooperation with the Islamic world

Young diplomats' consideration of security in the Middle East and Russia's cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world is in demand in the current situation. This was stated in the welcoming speech by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the V Forum of Young Diplomats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was read out by Chairman of the MFA Young Diplomats Council Konstantin Kolpakov.


The Minister noted that the event held in the framework of the Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021" provides an opportunity to hone international communication skills in an informal setting. "The stated topics of the discussion seem to be very relevant. There is no doubt about the importance of discussing the development of diplomacy in the post-Soviet period, the role of young employees of foreign ministries in the formation of the modern agenda. There is a demand for the discussion of security in the Middle East and the prospects of cooperation between Russia and the OIC countries," the greeting runs.


The XII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021" is held on July 28-30 in Kazan. The summit is attended by representatives of 48 countries and 25 regions of Russia. The summit aims to develop cooperation and maintain a dialogue between Russia and the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the economic, political and cultural spheres.
