The Russian side and African countries have started working on the agenda of the second Russia-Africa summit. This was stated in an article by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for African media published on the Russian foreign ministry's website on Friday ahead of his trip to the continent.
According to him, the task of bringing Russian and African economic operators to each other's markets and encouraging their participation in large-scale infrastructure projects is now coming to the fore. "We assume that the second Russia-Africa summit will help to solve these and other problems. At the moment together with our African friends we're working on the content of the summit", said Lavrov.
Russia plans to hold the second Russia-Africa summit in Russia in 2023. The first Russia-Africa summit and economic forum were held October 22-24, 2019, in Sochi under the slogan "For Peace, Security and Development." The Roscongress Foundation was the operator to ensure the organization and holding of the events.
