Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov welcomed the participants of the XIth International Economic Summit “Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2019”.
The message, in particular, declares that the event traditionally gathers in the capital of Tatarstan Representatives of Government, business, scientific and expert circles interested in building practical cooperation between Russia and Muslim countries.
“Russia and the OIC Member States have strong bonds of friendship and partnership, adherence to the principles of the UN Charter. We are consistent supporters of respect for the cultural and civilizational diversity of the modern world, the right of its peoples to independently determine models of political and socio-economic development”, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Press Office quotes Sergey Lavrov.
It is known that the XIth International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2019" has started in the capital of the Republic the day before. Delegates from dozens of Muslim states traditionally take part in its work.
