Russia is committed to strengthening multifaceted cooperation with the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
This is stated in a message from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to SADC Executive Secretary Stergomena Lawrence Tax on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the organization's formation.
"Taking into account the memoranda of understanding signed between Russia and the SADC on the basis of mutual relations and cooperation and on the PTS, the Russian side is determined to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation with the SADC in a number of priority areas, including trade, economic, investment, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation," the message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
The SADC is one of the largest and most influential sub-regional associations in Africa with 16 states in it.
