Russia is looking forward to welcoming Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Moscow for the upcoming celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II. The statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting with Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.
“This year holds special significance—it’s a milestone anniversary. We are expecting President Tokayev to join the commemorative events marking our shared victory,” Lavrov said.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov previously noted that invitations have been extended not only to leaders of CIS countries but to heads of state from across the globe. He emphasized that Russia would be pleased to host any international guests who recognize the importance of Victory Day.
Lavrov added that many of the invited nations have already confirmed their attendance at the May 9th events in Moscow.
