Moscow and Bishkek are working on an intergovernmental agreement on the organized recruitment of citizens of the republic to work in Russia. This is stated in an article by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, published Thursday in Rossiyskaya Gazeta on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Central Asian states.
"Our countries are developing close cooperation in the field of migration regulation, improving the specialized legal and contractual framework. In 2017, an intergovernmental agreement on the organized recruitment of Uzbek citizens to work in the Russian Federation was signed. A similar agreement signed in 2019 with Tajikistan came into force. A corresponding intergovernmental document is being worked out with Kyrgyzstan," he said.
According to Lavrov, it is no secret that citizens of Central Asian states show high interest in the Russian labor market. "This is due to the visa-free regime with the vast majority of countries in the region and the absence of a language barrier," said the head of the Russian diplomatic office.
