"It is necessary to ensure the implementation of another of their commitments that the Taliban (banned in Russia) took publicly when they came to power, namely the creation of an inclusive ethno-political government in which not only representatives of different ethnic and confessional groups but also representatives of all key political movements of the country should be represented," he said. - "I think that this process, which we support in every way, should be accelerated. Our wishes and proposals in this regard have been forwarded to Kabul. They are met with understanding".

Lavrov noted Russia's commitment to international law as regards official, legal and international-legal recognition of the new Afghan authorities. "To this end, we believe that they need to continue their efforts to combat terrorist organizations, which, unfortunately, still retain their positions in Afghanistan, [as well as] efforts to combat drug trafficking," the minister pointed out.
