Russia condemns the attacks by Yemen's Ansar Allah ( Houthis) rebel movement on civilian facilities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday following talks with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"We are concerned about another round of tension in and around Yemen. We are united in the inadmissibility of transferring hostilities to the territory of neighboring states. Russia condemns the attacks on civilian targets in the UAE and Saudi Arabia," he said.

Lavrov added that Russia and the UAE share the view that the protracted Yemen conflict cannot have a military solution. "It is necessary to continue working to establish a dialogue between the opposing sides based on the views of all leading Yemeni political forces," the minister said.

The Russian foreign minister also pointed out that Russia had informed his UAE colleagues about the latest contacts with representatives of the Syrian leadership and the work with the Syrian opposition in the context of promoting constitutional reform through the Geneva process, which resumes at the end of this month.

"There are processes going on in Libya that also require increased attention," he pointed out. - "We reaffirmed our mutual commitment to contribute to the efforts to stabilize the situation through the advancement of the political process, holding national elections within a reasonable time frame under the auspices of the UN. According to the minister, "it is necessary to ensure the participation in these processes of all influential political forces which advocate the preservation of unity and territorial integrity of the Libyan state".
