Lavrov to go on a working trip to the Middle East on December 12

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will go on a working trip to the Middle East and North Africa on Sunday, during his tour he will visit Israel, Palestine, Algeria and Morocco, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, told reporters on Tuesday.


"In a few days, Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov will be visiting the Middle East and North Africa. It's already on Sunday. There [is to be] a trip to Israel, Palestine, Algeria, Morocco," he said in response to a question from TASS.


Bogdanov said that Lavrov would take part next week in a meeting of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum to be held in Morocco.


"In Morocco, apart from bilateral talks and contacts with the kingdom's leadership, a very important event is to be held - a meeting of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum at the level of foreign ministers. We are engaged in this together with the Secretary-General of the Arab League and our Moroccan partners. We hope for a very solid and broad representation of League members, our Arab partners at the level of foreign ministers," Bogdanov said, answering a question to TASS.


"It will be as early as next week. In the city of Marrakech," he specified.
