"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Moscow within the framework of the first visit to Russia of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi," the diplomat pointed out.
According to Zakharova, the sides will discuss the state and prospects of Russian-Iranian relations, including "various aspects of interaction in the economic sphere with a focus on the progress of key bilateral projects." "They are also expected to exchange views on a number of topical international topics, in particular on the situation around the negotiation process in Vienna on the restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program and on certain regional subjects," she said.
The Iranian president arrived in Russia on January 19 with an official visit. The meeting with Putin was the first since the Iranian politician took office. On January 20, Raisi is scheduled to address the State Duma and the Cathedral Mosque in Moscow.
