Lavrov to meet Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan in Moscow on December 5

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who will pay a working visit to Russia, on December 5. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said this at a briefing on Wednesday.


"On December 5, the head of the Russian MFA will receive the foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who will visit the Russian Federation," the diplomat said.


She said that the ministers intend to discuss a range of issues of further development of Russia-Azerbaijan relations in the context of the declaration on cooperation signed by the presidents of the two countries in Moscow on February 22 of this year.


"It is also planned to thoroughly discuss a number of topical regional and international issues. Particular attention will be paid to the discussion and implementation of the trilateral agreements at the highest level of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, and October 31 of this year. They are designed to provide a comprehensive normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations," Zakharova summarized.


In addition, Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow on December 6 with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, who will visit Russia to participate in a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. "The Russian foreign minister will hold talks in Moscow on December 6 with the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the foreign minister of Turkmenistan. He is arriving in Russia to participate in the 12th meeting of the Russia-Turkmenistan intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation," Zakharova said.


According to the diplomat, the sides plan to discuss key topics of cooperation between the two countries, topical issues of the regional and international agenda, as well as cooperation in multilateral formats - the CIS, Russia-Central Asia, the Caspian Five and the UN.
