Lavrov to meet foreign ministers of Turkey and China on the sidelines of G20 summit on July 7

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold a meeting on Thursday with the foreign ministers of Turkey and China, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Wang Yi, on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of 20, which takes place July 7-8 July on the Indonesian resort island of Bali. This was reported to TASS by the Russian MFA.


"Meetings with the foreign ministers of Turkey and China are planned," the ministry pointed out.


Lavrov is scheduled to have a number of meetings with his counterparts from other countries in the format on the margins of the Ministerial Council on Friday.


Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that the sides will discuss pressing issues of strengthening the foundations of multilateralism in a polycentric world order, as well as increasing food and energy security. "Special attention is expected to be paid to restoring economic growth, eliminating the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in the context of the energy transition and digital transformation," she said.
