Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow on October 4 with Egyptian foreign minister Sameh Shoukry, who will be in the capital on a working visit from October 3 to 5, Alexei Zaitsev, deputy director of the Russian MFA Information and press department, said at a briefing on Thursday.
"On October 4, negotiations will be held between the Russian minister [of foreign affairs Sergey Lavrov] and foreign minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry, who will be in Moscow on a working visit from October 3 to 5," Zaitsev said.
According to him, the sides will consider "topical issues of further expansion of Russian-Egyptian cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and other areas." "The foreign ministers will also discuss the emerging situation in the Middle East and North Africa region," Zaitsev continued. - "Moscow attaches special importance to maintaining a high level of cooperation with Egypt, which is Russia's main partner in the Arab world and on the African continent."
He pointed out that "multifaceted ties" between Moscow and Cairo are "successfully developing" today.
