Lavrov to meet with Niger's Foreign Minister

On September 18-20, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Nigeriens Abroad of the Republic of Niger Kalla Ankourao will pay a working visit to Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with him on September 19.

 

 


According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, there is a constructive and trusting political dialogue between Russia and Niger, a member-country of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. It is based on the consonance of the perception of the processes taking place in the world, including the formation of a polycentric world order as a more just and secure system of international relations. Useful interaction is provided in the UN and other multilateral formats.

 

 


The Ministers will discuss topics of mutual interest on the international and African agenda, with a focus on the maintenance of peace and stability in Africa, including the Sahara and Sahel region.

 

 


There will also be a detailed exchange of views on ways to develop mutually beneficial business partnership, primarily in such areas as exploration and development of mineral resources, energy, and infrastructure.
