Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged Russian regions to actively cooperate with BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
"It is desirable to involve Russian regions more actively in the work of BRICS and the SCO," the minister said, opening a meeting Monday with heads of territorial bodies - representatives of the Russian MFA in Russian regions.
According to Lavrov, within the framework of these organizations, "there are already formats that are aimed specifically at regional interaction and cooperation between regions and provinces of the participating countries."
