Lavrov will take part in the UN session on the drug situation in Afghanistan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the ministerial segment in the upcoming 62nd session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, which will be held on March 14th.  

 

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, based on the results of the discussion, the future of the interstate drug control system is expected to be determined.  

 

Special attention wil be paid to the drug situation in Afghanistan.  

 

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry intends to urge the international community to consolidate efforts to counter such challenges as drug distribution via the Internet, the emergence of new psychoactive substances, and the financing of terrorism through drug trafficking.
