In Tunis, on the margins of the 30th Summit of the League of Arab States, a meeting was held between Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov and the President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Aoun.

As noted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during the confidential conversation, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrant Affairs of Lebanon, Gebran Bassil, also took part, a number of issues of further strengthening the traditionally friendly Russian-Lebanese relations were discussed.

Particular attention is paid to the tasks of combating international terrorism in the Middle East, as well as to the implementation of the Russian initiative to return Syrian refugees to their homeland, including those located in the territory of the Lebanese Republic.
