Libya intends to give a strong impetus to bilateral cooperation with Russia, according to Abdul Hadi Al-Hweij, the foreign minister of the Libyan government based in the east of the country. In an interview with Izvestia newspaper, al-Hweij highlighted the importance of enhancing the relationship between the two nations.
"There is a special relationship between Russia and Libya. However, so far, both economic and commercial ties are below the level we are aiming for. For this reason, we want to give a strong push, a powerful impetus to bilateral cooperation between our countries," he emphasized.
Al-Hweij noted that Russia and Libya already collaborate in various sectors, including economic, trade, education, energy, and grain industries, as well as fertilizer and vaccine production. "All these activities are very promising, but we would like to develop, strengthen, and increase them to a level that will eventually lead us to relations at a high political level," he added.
