Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohamed al-Menfi has put forward a proposal for the countries bordering Sudan to establish a coordination committee aimed at joining efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing crisis. Al-Menfi made this initiative during a meeting of heads of states neighboring Sudan, which commenced in Cairo on Thursday. The meeting was broadcasted by the AlHadath TV channel.
"Libya is ready to assist and engage with all parties involved in order to bring an end to the conflict in Sudan. I'm calling upon neighboring countries to establish a coordination committee that will unite various initiatives focused on resolving the crisis in Sudan," al-Menfi said. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of "collaborating to address the humanitarian consequences" resulting from the Sudanese crisis, highlighting the significant number of displaced persons and refugees.
The meeting of heads of states bordering Sudan is centered around developing a common stance on resolving the armed conflict and implementing joint measures to restore security in Sudan.
