The Republic of Mali has registered the Russian vaccine against Sputnik V coronavirus, becoming the 58th country to approve the drug, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced.
"The RDIF announces that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V has been registered in the Republic of Mali. The registration of the drug was carried out within the framework of an emergency use authorization (EUA)," the fund said.
Thus, the vaccine Sputnik V has been approved in 58 countries with a total population of over 1.5 billion people. In terms of the number of approvals received by government regulators, Sputnik V ranks second in the world.

The effectiveness of the vaccine is 91.6%, as confirmed by the publication of the data, in The Lancet, one of the oldest and most respected medical journals in the world.
The vaccine is based on a proven and well-studied human adenovirus vector platform and uses two different vectors for two vaccinations during vaccination, providing longer-lasting immunity than vaccines using the same delivery mechanism for both vaccinations.
