Maria Zakharova claimed about the potential collapse in the Middle East

Military intervention in Iran's affairs could lead to an escalation of the crisis in the Middle East, Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with the Russian radio "Komsomolskaya pravda".

"Not even a specialist can now calculate the effect from the armed scenario because over the past 10 years we have seen several examples one after another. And the region has not still gotten through the situation in Libya, Syria <...> Therefore, if this scenario is played out against Iran, it will be a collapse," the diplomat said, commenting on the relations between Iran and the United States.

At the same time, according to Zakharova, the international community does not yet know how to stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

It is worth noting that tensions between Iran and the USA  arose after the United States withdrew from the nuclear deal and reapplied all pre-Treaty sanctions against Tehran.

In response to this, Tehran announced that it suspends the implementation of several items of the document.
