A Turkish bulk carrier bound for Chornomorsk to pick up the export Ukrainian grain should tentatively arrive at its destination on August 5, Channel 24 reports on Thursday.
With reference to the monitoring group of the "Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies" and the BlackSeaNews portal, the channel reports that the vessel left the Turkish port of Iskenderun on July 31.
A package of documents was signed in Istanbul on July 22 to solve the problem of food and fertilizer deliveries to world markets. A memorandum between Russia and the United Nations stipulates that the world organization is joining the effort to lift anti-Russian restrictions impeding exports of agricultural products and fertilizers. Another document outlines a mechanism for exporting grain from Ukrainian-controlled Black Sea ports. The agreements between Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Nations call for the creation of a quadripartite coordination center, whose representatives will inspect vessels carrying grain to prevent arms smuggling and exclude provocations.
On July 27, the launch of the Joint Grain Supply Coordination Center was announced in Istanbul. On August 1, the first vessel Razoni, flying the flag of Sierra Leone, left the port of Odessa and arrived in Istanbul on Tuesday.
