Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko have congratulated President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his birthday. The Neytralny Turkmenistan newspaper quotes the texts of the congratulations on Friday.
"On behalf of the government of the Russian Federation and on my own behalf, I heartily congratulate you on your birthday. I would like to especially note your constant attention to the development of the Russia-Turkmenistan relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. Trade and economic and investment cooperation is steadily strengthening, promising joint projects in energy, industry and innovation sphere are being implemented, interregional relations and business contacts are expanding," Mishustin wrote. He also congratulated Berdimuhamedov on Turkmenistan's upcoming national holiday - Independence Day (celebrated September 27).
Matviyenko noted that the Federation Council attaches great importance to deepening the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan and is making every effort to develop intensive multifaceted interaction. "Friendly relations between our countries have reached a new level of trust and mutual understanding. A significant role in this belongs to the parliamentarians. We highly appreciate the attention and support that the country's leadership gives to the development of the dialogue of legislators. <...> I warmly recall my visit to hospitable Ashgabat and have the best impressions of the beauty and originality of the capital of Turkmenistan. <...> You are always welcome in the Federation Council," she added.
Governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin thanked Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory message for "all-round assistance in strengthening and improving the multifaceted relations of the Astrakhan region with Turkmenistan". On the eve, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Turkmen counterpart over the phone. Leaders of other states also sent congratulations to Berdimuhamedov.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov was born on September 22, 1981.
