Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko has extended her congratulations to Rustami Emomali on being reelected as the head of the Majlisi Milli, the upper chamber of Tajikistan’s parliament. In her message, she expressed confidence that continued cooperation would help unlock new opportunities in bilateral interparliamentary relations.
“I am certain that our joint efforts will continue to create new avenues for collaboration between the legislative bodies of our countries and will promote closer cooperation on international platforms,” Matviyenko stated in her congratulatory telegram, according to the Federation Council’s press service.
She noted that Emomali’s reelection reflects the high level of public trust in his leadership and his consistent, systematic approach to governance. She also emphasized his firm commitment to ensuring effective legal regulation across all areas of national life.
“Your steady dedication to maintaining working contacts is a key factor in the sustained and constructive dialogue between Russian senators and members of the Majlisi Milli of the Republic of Tajikistan,” she added.
Matviyenko concluded by wishing Emomali good health, well-being, and continued success in his work for the benefit of the Tajik people.
Rustami Emomali was reelected as speaker during the first session of the newly elected chamber following the March 2025 parliamentary elections.
