Afghan National Resistance Front (NFR) forces are repelling attacks by the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) in Baghlan province, FNR spokesman Sibgatullah Ahmadi told Aamaj News on Wednesday.
"Fierce fighting is going on in the Andarab area, where the enemy launched several attacks on our positions," he pointed out. - "Despite their losses, the Taliban are still fighting and sending reinforcements to the Khoja and Baghdar fronts. According to Ahmadi, "the morale of the NFR units, which have resisted at least five attempts to break through their defensive lines, is very high".
On Monday, NFR fighters conducted an armed operation in the Panjer Gorge, killing at least 10 Taliban. One of the front's commanders, Sami Osmani, was killed in the fighting.
Amrullah Saleh, former vice president of Afghanistan, said in an interview with the news agency April 4 that with the warming weather, the NFR has intensified guerrilla attacks in Parwan, Panjsher, Kapisa and Baghlan provinces.
The Taliban launched a large-scale operation to take control of Afghanistan after the US announced in the spring of 2021 that it had decided to withdraw its military forces from the country. On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul without a fight. Afghan politicians who disagreed with the radicals' rule organized a resistance in the northern province of Panjsher led by Ahmad Masoud, the son and successor of the field commander Ahmad Shah Masoud (1953-2001) of Tajik origin.
