Media: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Named Acting Foreign Minister

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has assumed the role of acting foreign minister following the passing of Hossein Amir Abdollahian, as reported by the IRNA news agency.

 

It was disclosed that Ali Bagheri Kani's candidacy was endorsed during an extraordinary government meeting chaired by Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber. Mokhber, currently serving as the acting head of Iran's executive branch due to the demise of President Ebrahim Raisi, presided over the decision to appoint Kani to the position.
