Media: Israel Considers Pre-emptive Strike on Iran

05 August

Israeli leadership is deliberating a potential pre-emptive strike against Iran, contingent on the certainty of an impending attack from Tehran. The Times of Israel reported that on the evening of August 4, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a meeting with top military and intelligence officials, including Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi, Mossad Director David Barnea, and General Security Service head Ronen Bar.

The discussions emphasized that any preventive action would be contingent upon absolute confirmation of Iran's hostile intentions, according to the report.

Earlier, Axios cited sources indicating that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken informed G7 foreign ministers of a potential imminent attack from Iran and Hezbollah on Israel within the next 24 hours.
