Units of the IDF ground forces entered the Gaza Strip on Friday night to conduct a raid against the Palestinian movement Hamas. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post.
According to the newspaper, infantry units, armored vehicles, and engineering units of the Israeli army's 36th Division are participating in the raid. They have been in Gaza for several hours and are operating against "Hamas and terrorist targets." The military units are expected to return to Israeli territory after the raid concludes.
The day before, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said that short-term raids by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip are preparing the ground for the next stages of the operation. He noted that such actions will continue in the coming days.
