Media: Israeli Military Destroyed Waiting Area on Palestinian Side of Rafah Crossing

17 June

The Israeli military set fire to the waiting area on the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, according to the Egyptian TV channel "Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya."

Reports indicate that the facility was completely destroyed due to Israel's actions. No information has been provided regarding damage to other administrative buildings on the Palestinian side of the border crossing.

On May 7, Israeli forces took control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which borders the Gaza Strip and Egypt. In response, on May 11, Cairo announced that it would not coordinate its future actions regarding the crossing with the Israeli state. A few days later, Egypt held Israel fully responsible for the closure of the crossing and the disruption of the humanitarian aid delivery process to residents of the Palestinian enclave. Currently, humanitarian aid to Gaza is being delivered through the Kerem Shalom crossing on the border between Gaza and Israel.
