The Israel Defense Forces, in parallel with the storming of the town of Jenin in the West Bank, is conducting an operation in the refugee camps in Jericho, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Sources from Jericho report that the Israeli military stormed the city from several directions. A bulldozer was brought to Aqabat Jabr camp, while IDF soldiers deployed in the center of Ein as-Sultan camp. The Israeli military reportedly fired live ammunition to disperse the Palestinians, with no casualties reported so far.
In addition, according to Al Jazeera, the Israeli army also attacked the Jalazone refugee camp north of Ramallah. Published video footage shows the moment Israeli troops stormed residential neighborhoods inside the camp.
Earlier, Al Jazeera reported that at least eight people were wounded by the Israeli military as a result of the storming of Jenin. Israeli forces have blocked access to the town and set up checkpoints on all approaches to the town. The raid involves hundreds of Israeli soldiers backed by more than 50 armored vehicles, including bulldozers that are digging up roads.
The TV channel reports that the Israeli military has surrounded and is blocking the entrances to the three main hospitals in Jenin. It reports that the IDF is storming the courtyards of the city's hospitals and besieging them, preventing ambulances from traveling to the wounded.
