The Al Arabiya TV channel described the latest action by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in several areas of the Gaza Strip as the first time the truce has been violated.
According to it, Israeli tanks opened fire in the enclave's southern neighborhoods, east of the towns of Rafah and Khan Younis. In addition, the IDF military, according to the TV station, used flash-bang grenades in Gaza. For its part, the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera said that Israeli tank troops were firing in the north of the enclave, northwest of Gaza City.
Earlier on Tuesday, Al Arabiya and Al Hadath reported that explosions and gunfire were heard west of Gaza City, while the Israeli military was firing heavily east of the town of Khan Younis in the south of the enclave.
According to the agreements reached with the help of international mediators represented by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, the first day of the additional period of the humanitarian pause was to begin at 07:00 local time (08:00 Moscow time). It was planned that this stage would last two days, until November 30.
On the eve, a spokesman for the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, Taher al-Nunu, told TASS that the new deal with Israel will operate on the same terms, i.e. three Palestinian prisoners will be released daily in exchange for each released Israeli hostage. In addition, 200 trucks with humanitarian aid will enter the Gaza Strip, half of which should be allowed into the northern part of the enclave.
