The Turkish military carried out airstrikes on the town of Suluk, located in northern Syria, according to Al Arabiya. The channel reported that the southern areas of the town were targeted, but provided no further details.
On January 5, the Turkish army announced that it had neutralized 32 fighters from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which Ankara considers a terrorist organization, in northern Syria.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has been ongoing since 1984. Turkish authorities regard the PKK as a significant threat to national security and frequently conduct raids against its supporters within the country, as well as military operations in northern Syria and Iraq.
