US servicemen have taken out another batch of Syrian oil from the Syrian province of Al-Hasakah to Iraq, the SANA news agency reported on Monday, citing sources in the region.
According to them, the US military sent at least 76 tanks with stolen Syrian oil to its bases in northern Iraq through the Mahmudiyah checkpoint. The agency recalled that on Saturday, the US military took out at least 93 truckloads of oil and wheat from Syria to Iraq.
Most of the Syrian provinces of Al-Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa, located in the east and northeast of the country, are controlled by the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are supported by the United States. According to the Al Mayadeen Lebanese TV channel, the Western coalition led by the US is helping the Kurdish autonomous administration to establish oil production at the previously mothballed wells. According to Al Mayadeen, the aim is to create an economic base through the subsequent sale of oil. Damascus views the US military presence on Syrian territory as an illegal occupation.
