A regular meeting of the Project Technical Committee (PTC) on the standardization of Halal Products and services was held in Moscow today.
According to the press service of the Religious Board of Muslims of Republic of Tatarstan, the head of the Committee, Deputy Mufti of Tatarstan, Rector of the Russian Islamic Academy Rafik Mukhametshin held the event.
The event was also attended by Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (ROSSTANDART) Anton Shalaev, representatives of regional religious boards of Muslims of Russia, scientific institutes of industry, as well as Halal committees and certification centers, and other organizations.
The participants discussed the implementation of the National Standards Development Program for 2019 and the development of the preliminary national standard of "Halal products and services. General terms and definitions". The main directions of the work of the PTC in 2020 are also reviewed.
The Technical Committee was established on the basis of the Russian Islamic Institute in October 2017 in the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (ROSSTANDART). The main objective of the Committee is to develop and implement the Federal standardized methods in the production of Halal products and services.
