Military tactical exercises are planned to be held in Turkmenistan. This was reported on Friday by the official newspaper "Neytralny Turkmenistan" following the meeting of the State security council held the day before.
According to the newspaper, Secretary of the State Security Council and Defense Minister Begench Gundogdiyev reported to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov about the ongoing preparations for the exercises. The date of the exercise was not specified.
Berdimuhamedov noted Turkmenistan's commitment to its purely defensive military doctrine. He ordered to properly prepare for the exercises focusing on the organization of the activities of all structures of the National army taking into account the requirements of the time. At that, according to him, the priority should be given to further study and introduction of the world's best military practices.
The previous joint military exercises of air forces and other services were held in Turkmenistan last October. At that time, Berdimuhamedov noted the high level of their organization.
