Military exercises of Russia, Iran and China started in the Indian Ocean

Today military exercises of Russia, Iran and China called Maritime security Belt started in the Northern Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman.   As the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali told RIA Novosti, the aim of the exercise, which will be held until December 30, is to work out measures to combat terrorism and Maritime piracy, as well as ensuring regional security.


The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif has repeatedly stressed that the exercise is not directed against other countries.


The Pentagon said that the US would monitor the exercises of Russia, China and Iran.
