Ministers of Finance of Russia and Turkey signed an agreement on calculations in national currencies

Russia and Turkey have signed an agreement on calculations and payments in national currencies. According to the Russian Ministry of Finance, the document was signed by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov and Turkish Minister of Finance and Treasury Berat Albayrak.

 

 


The purpose of the agreement is to expand and strengthen interbank cooperation, as well as to ensure uninterrupted payments between companies of the two countries.

 

 


"The signing of the agreement is an important step for the further expansion and development of mutually beneficial and equal trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkey", - reads the message of the Russian Finance Ministry.

 

 


Earlier it was announced that by the end of 2018 the trade turnover between Russia and Turkey reached 25.5 billion dollars, this is 16% more than in the previous year.
